fare il formaggio (in bianco e nero) / making cheese (black and white)

After letting the curds settle on the bottom of the pot, I drained the whey and then pressed the curds into a slab, which I then moved onto a board for cutting. Whey is slowly oozing from underneath.

The cheese of the photo is currently in its aging phase. I hope to feature it in an upcoming post, so I won't reveal its name quite yet.

BlackWhiteWednesdayFinalOriginalLogo This is my submission to week #3 edition of Black and White Wednesday – A Culinary Photography Event, recently launched by Susan of The Well-Seasoned Cook.

The photo was shot in color and then converted to black and white.

This post contains the gallery of photos submitted to the event.

  1. The texture of the cheese in this photo is simply beautiful, but I suspect that the cheese itself will be even more exquisite. I look forward to your post about it, but in the meanwhile I may just have to try your homemade ricotta recipe.

Ciao Susan. It was one of those moments. I put the slab on the board and grabbed the camera. A few seconds later, it was no longer as strong an image.
    Ciao Ale: grazie!
Ciao Duespaghetti. I have been making cheese for some time now, but I still feel like every step of the process is a bit of magic. I hope you try.
    Thanks, Haalo.

Ciao brii. Ho creato un bel po’ di aspettativa con questa foto. Spero che la prima fetta non deluda.
