garlic in the rough
Garlic is beloved and photogenic, so it is no wonder that it has appeared in several photos of previous editions of Black and White Wednesday. The garlic in the photo above is dear to me, because it grew in my little garden. It was the first time I harvested garlic and it was great fun to dig up the bulbs, a sort of treasure hunt.

How nice that you can grow your own garlic! I can visualise it in colour – the powdery, sooty, black spots and the parched skin …

You’re so lucky to have your own garlic! In the shops there usually is gralic from Chine which is quite tasteless and low-quality. I’m always so happy to get some good garlic from my neighbour. By the way, your photo is really so beautiful!

Ciao Sra. The garlic has light pink streaks that are lost in the color shift. It’s nice to see the head coming out of the ground.
