bilancia / weighing scale

Redwood Roots Farm stand

everything's ready for the eager shoppers

Three times a week, the farm stand is open at Redwood Roots Farm. Arriving there shortly before the opening bell allowed me to take some photographs of the neat display Janet had prepared. The portrait of the scales is my favorite. Before the produce starts changing hands, before the scales' needle starts oscillating forward and back to zero, there are a few moments of suspended expectation.

shadow on Cinderella

The sun was shining brightly last Saturday and after doing a bit of shopping, I took a walk around the farm decked in orange as befalls the season. Removing from the photograph the dark orange of this variety of pumpkin brings out the surface texture and gives the shadow of the neighboring leaves an almost ominous character. After all, it is almost Halloween.

The photos were shot in color and then converted to sepia (Lightroom preset Sepia Tone).

This post contains the gallery of images contributed to the event.
