In this crostata, I celebrate the change of seasons: the filling includes plum preserves I made in early summer and apples from the new crop. The recipe is in this post.

And it *is* pretty. Scraping the light over texture for a top-down shot is not easy. Your crostata is three dimensional, Simona, very well sculpted. I’m sure it tasted like a dream. Look at that clean cut, too!
Yes, I’ll have a slice, please! I’m not big on sweets but this kind of thing really sends me. And I love the way you’ve made the apple slices wrinkle so beautifully. A true work of art.

Thank you, Susan. Sometimes the stars of photography are all aligned and the result matches the plan. We shared it with friends and it was gone before the end of the day.
I wish I could find a way to send you a slice, Frank. I am also not big on sweets, hence my preference for fresh fruit and low-sugar preserves. Also, apples are really amazing.
